Five-Year Financial Plan Adopted

On April 16, Council adopted the Five-Year Financial Plan (2024-2028), Bylaw No. 2510, 2024. The 2024 Budget advances Council’s Strategic Plan, while focusing on maintaining existing services that residents rely on the City to provide every day, while advancing key projects and planning for critical infrastructure upgrades that are required to continue providing the core services we rely on.

Each year City Council and City Staff work together to develop an annual budget and five-year financial plan to guide where tax dollars, funding, and resources are allocated during the coming year. The City’s budget is guided by Council's strategic priorities, the need to maintain and replace our infrastructure and assets, continuing to offer essential services, and priorities expressed by the community.

The 2024 Budget Process included a series of Special Budget Meetings in February to present the draft operating and capital budgets to Council.

A Public Open House was hosted on February 29, where residents could talk to City Staff and Council about upcoming initiatives like curbside organics collection, the Fire Hall replacement project, and improvements to our water and wastewater systems.

For those that could not make the open house in person, a survey is available until March 10 to provide your feedback. A summary of public input will be presented to Council on March 19 at a Special Council Meeting.
